MADISON PARK RESIDENCE

The architecture and interiors of this 1950’s rambler was taken down to the studs and completely updated by Garret Cord Werner. The previously enclosed kitchen and confined floor plan was completely opened up to fit today’s lifestyle. The home was re-glazed, and a new wall of glass doors was designed to open directly to the private front garden and entertaining deck, merging the interiors to the outside. The staircase was rebuilt with open risers to allow for more light, and to engage the connection to the rear yard which was previously blocked off. A continuous counter flows from the kitchen into the dining area, providing a great use of storage and a large buffet surface. The floors, fireplace, and exterior fence walls were finished in milestone finish to mimic concrete, and to fit the client’s budget requirements.
